Greece flag

Every now and then, we are lucky enough to organize this incredible tour, and every time, it feels like an entirely new adventure. This journey is all about contrasts—from the bustling streets of Athens, where navigating the city’s energetic chaos is part of the thrill, to the peaceful, nearly deserted mountain roads that offer a sense of pure freedom.

From surreal beaches to UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Greece has it all. And on this tour, you’ll experience the very best it has to offer, all from the seat of your motorcycle. This is why we love Greece, and we can’t wait to share it with you.

Starting the Journey in Athens

Our adventure begins in Athens, the capital of Greece and home to the country’s largest international airport. With the itinerary set, hotels booked, and motorcycles ready, it’s time to hit the road and explore some of the best motorcycle routes in Greece.

On the first day of riding, we make our way to the famous Temple of Apollo at Delphi. This historic site, thousands of years old, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an absolute must-see for history lovers. The ride to Delphi is enjoyable, offering a mix of scenic views and well-maintained roads. But the best is yet to come.

Exploring Delphi and the Road to Meteora

After exploring the ancient ruins of Delphi, we set our sights on Meteora, another UNESCO-listed marvel. Normally, the ride from Delphi to Meteora would take just a few hours, but motorcycle touring isn’t just about the destination—it’s about the journey. That’s why we take the long way, passing through Karpenissi, an area known for its winding roads, minimal traffic, and breathtaking mountain views.

Two roads in particular stand out: the route heading north from Karpenissi and the road running along the western side of Lake Plastiras. Both offer spectacular riding conditions and should be on any motorcyclist’s radar when exploring Greece.

The Breathtaking Beauty of Meteora

Arriving at Meteora is like stepping into a different world. Towering rock formations rise dramatically from the landscape, crowned with centuries-old monasteries that seem to defy gravity. The site’s history dates back to the 9th century when monks began scaling these cliffs to build their monastic retreats. Watching the sunset over Meteora is an unforgettable experience, one that truly captures the magic of Greece.

Riding Through Zagori and the Pindus National Park

Next, we venture into the stunning region of Zagori, home to 46 traditional villages, historic stone bridges, and scenic mountain roads. The Pindus National Park, with its endless twists and turns, offers one of the most enjoyable rides in Greece. Here, traffic is sparse, the roads are well-paved, and every turn reveals another postcard-perfect view. We also pass through the renowned Baros Pass, an absolute must for bikers, known for its challenging curves and breathtaking landscapes. We spend the night in one of these charming villages, immersing ourselves in the tranquility of rural Greece.

Choosing the Best Route to Lefkada

From Zagori, our next destination is the island of Lefkada, and we have two route options: the coastal road or the mountain pass. If the weather is clear, we recommend the mountain route through Tzoumerka National Park. The rugged landscapes, winding roads, and pristine nature make this a must-ride area for motorcycle enthusiasts.

Lefkada itself is easily accessible via a bridge, meaning no need to wait for ferries. This island is home to some of Greece’s most stunning beaches, including Porto Katsiki—one of the most iconic shorelines in the country.

Crossing to the Peloponnese: Kalavryta, Sparta, and Mani

Leaving Lefkada, we cross the Rio-Antirrio Bridge to enter the Peloponnese, a region rich in history and natural beauty. Along the way, we pass through Kalavryta and Sparta before reaching Mystras, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. The medieval ruins of Mystras transport us back in time, showcasing the grandeur of the Byzantine Empire.

Continuing south, we explore the Mani Peninsula, one of Greece’s most rugged and picturesque regions. The roads here wind through remote villages, offering spectacular coastal views. The pace of life slows down in Mani, making it the perfect place to relax and soak in the atmosphere.

The Final Stretch: Monemvasia and the Road Back to Athens

Our final overnight stop is in Monemvasia, a beautifully preserved medieval town on a small island connected to the mainland by a narrow causeway. Taking a rest day here allows us to explore its charming alleys, climb to the fortress, and, for those who want one last adventure, ride to the nearby island of Elafonisos to visit Simos Beach—one of Greece’s most famous stretches of sand.

On the last day of the tour, we make two final stops. The first is at Epidaurus, an ancient city known for its perfectly preserved amphitheater with incredible acoustics. The second is at the Corinth Canal, where we take a quick break for photos before heading back to Athens to conclude our journey.
