Join us on a breathtaking cycling journey through some of Greece’s most stunning and captivating regions – Evia Island and the Pelion Peninsula. This tour offers the perfect combination of natural landscapes, rich culture, and unparalleled cycling experiences.
The adventure begins in Athens and passes through Delphi, once considered the center of the world in ancient Greek belief. Delphi was a significant cultural, religious, and political hub of the ancient Greek world. Not only is Delphi an impressive historical site, but it also offers breathtaking views with its lush green mountains and sweeping vistas over the Corinthian Gulf.
Evia Island, known as “The Virgin Island,” lives up to its name, reflecting its authenticity, pristine landscapes, and the fact that it remains largely untouched by mass tourism. Its quaint villages and traditional whitewashed buildings seamlessly blend into the natural surroundings, preserving the island’s untouched beauty.
The Pelion Peninsula, one of Greece’s lesser-known but most beautiful regions, is a true hidden gem. Named after the mountain that stretches from the mainland to the sea, Pelion is home to picturesque mountain villages and charming seaside towns. This peninsula is renowned for its natural beauty and is a paradise for nature lovers. Its idyllic landscapes are so enchanting that, according to Greek mythology, the gods chose Pelion as their summer retreat.
Day 1: Athens to Delphi
We will depart from Athens and ride along picturesque, winding roads, enjoying the breathtaking views of the Greek mountains, charming villages, and magical beaches.
Our journey will take us through the mountain town of Arachova, which perfectly blends natural landscapes with a beautiful village atmosphere. Here, we’ll stop for a coffee break and breathe in the fresh mountain air.
Next, we will arrive at historic Delphi, one of the most important sites of ancient Greece, where history and mystery meet. Delphi is surrounded by a stunning mountain landscape. We will visit one of Greece’s most magnificent historical sites, the ruins of the “Tholos” of the Temple of Athena Pronaia, which offers breathtaking views of the valley below.
Afterward, we will continue to our hotel to check in and enjoy a relaxing dinner.
Day 2: Delphi to Volos
After breakfast, we will set off for a ride along a mountain road with breathtaking views. We’ll continue through picturesque villages in the mountains.
Our route will take us along the Pagasitic Gulf, with stunning views of the turquoise sea. At the end of the day’s ride, we will arrive in Volos, a charming port city located on the Pagasitikos Bay, on the Pelion Peninsula.
Day 3: Volos to Eretria
From Volos, we ride through charming villages and lush scenery, pausing for local coffee. Then, we ascend the Pelion Mountains, capturing stunning views from winding roads and scenic overlooks. A short ferry trip wth spectacular views delivers us to Evia Island, where a seaside meal awaits in Limni. We conclude in Eretria, relaxing on its picturesque beaches.
Day 4: Eretria to Athens
From Eretria we ride through the picturesque villages of Evia, enjoying the island’s green, mountainous landscapes. The route will take us through forests, streams, and breathtaking viewpoints.
We will cross the Euripus Strait via the ancient bridge, which connects Evia Island to the mainland of Greece, on our way to Athens. We’ll continue to Athens along a winding road through a stunning nature reserve.
